EDITING

Also known as copyediting, this is a wholistic assessment of lengthier written content. The process includes reviewing and correcting written material for inaccuracy, inconsistency, readability, mechanical and content errors, omissions, potential plagiarism, and repetition. The evaluation of structure and organization is included in this process.

TUTORING

Tutoring is the less-formal and less-consistent version of supplemental instruction. The focus is typically limited to one or two individual assignments. The courses applicable for this option include English, Spanish, Reading, ESL, and courses with extensive written assignments. This is also suitable for clients seeking assistance with personal statements and writing for a variety of applications, scholarships, etc.

PROOFREADING

This is the simplified version of editing. Proofreading is limited to the correction of any grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors. It is best suited for the final draft of written work that has previously been edited. Written work of any length qualifies for this option.

SUPPLEMENTAL INSTRUCTION

For clients that desire to expand on course content and develop reasoning and study skills, this option includes regularly scheduled, out-of-class sessions. The courses applicable to this option include English, Spanish, Reading, ESL, and courses with extensive writing assignments. Clients should be prepared to make the financial and time commitment required for the effectiveness of supplemental instruction.
